INFORMATION ON LIFE 2007-2008

 

Welcome – or – Welcome Back, to the 2nd year of LIFE!  What a hearty and pleasant response of this community to LIFE (Learning In Faith Experiences: an intergenerational, parish wide faith formation process) here at St. Lucy’s.  Approximately 600 members of our community participated in the 2 ˝ hour Celebration (session) that began with a meal, followed by prayer, theme introduction, breakout learning sessions and closing prayer.  Participants came as single households comprised of young adults, adults, senior citizens as well as families and extended families and ranged in age from 3  to 83.  What a wealth of faith and faith experiences shared within our parish!

 

Over the past year there were many positive things that came about through LIFE and also many areas that we need to grow in as LIFE continues to develop.  Some changes that will be introduced include:
 

A) Celebrations will be offered on 4 days, having been increased from 3 so as to better enable sharing and learning within more manageable sized groups;
B) “Home Kit” materials will be appropriate for every age group;
C) Enablement of individuals to serve as small group leaders who will assist presenters;
D) Providing references to teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church on the monthly themes;
E) Expanded Confirmation preparation program that runs concurrently with the LIFE Celebrations;
F) Occasional offering of  a separate Adult Track for those individuals looking for the opportunity to share faith in a deeper and more personal manner.

 

These are just a few of the upcoming changes; wait until you see what is in store for this Prayer and Spirituality themed year of LIFE Celebrations!

 

Please take time to read the attached materials and return the registration form as soon as possible along with the Stewardship commitment.  The celebrations (sessions) will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  This invitation to LIFE is for all parishioners of St. Lucy’s – YOU are needed to make our parish truly a parish family.
