Community Action Committee
Using the
Corporal Works of Mercy as a guide this committee works to implement the
Church’s role in charity and social justice. Through information and projects on
the local, national and international levels, we try to keep parishioners aware
of opportunities to serve those in need. Some annual projects this committee
organizes include: Pennies for Rx, a Thanksgiving Food Drive, a Giving Tree and
more. The group also carries out special projects. It has collected new and
used business clothing for those needing clothing to secure a job, collected
sufficient funds to build 13 homes in earthquake devastated Nicaragua, created a
prayer tree for active duty military persons and more.
